NEW INDIA MOVEMENT (Sankalp Se Siddhi)- - A Great Success
Malda Krishi Vigyan Kenda, West Bengal launched the ‘Sankalp Se Siddhi’ programme on August 30, 2017. The program comprises of inspirational film having message of Hon’ble Prime Minister to double farmers’ income by year 2022, followed by pledge for Sankalp Se Sidhi, lecture by agriculture experts and address of the chief guest. The farmers are also being shown various activities of Malda KVK to acquaint them with the latest advancements in agriculture and allied fields. A film on patriotism is also being screened on this occasion to motivate the participants. In this program, various line departments have participated so far. A large number of farmers, extension workers, social activists and various organizations have participated in this program. The programs are being covered by TV channels like Uttarbanga Sambad, 24-ghanta in order to play a key role in taking the message across the country. The participants have been very enthusiastic and are taking the pledge in letter and spirit to take the country forward. All the members present at the program took pledge to free India from poverty, terrorism, regionalism, corruption, non-hygiene and doubling the farmers’ income by the year 2022. The inaugural session was graced by Mr. A. K. Baidya, District Development Manager, NABARD, Malda apprised the farmers on various Credit plans and their benefits. He acquainted that, with the growing burden of Non Performing Assets (NPA), it is high time to change the mindset on agricultural subsidies and financial credits. He also strongly emphasized on collaboration of farmers, extension/research institute and policy makers for holistic development in the field of agriculture and allied sectors. Mr. Rabindranath Sarkar, Lead Bank Manager, UBI emphasized on the interlinkage between credit and land for overall development of the farming community in the field of agriculture, horticulture and allied fields like livestock, fishery, sericulture, etc. Mr. Chandan Kumar Jha, Demonstrator, Sericulture, Malda; Dr. Paramita Maity, BLDO, Ratua-I, Malda; Dr. Tanoy Saha, ADA, Ratua-II, Malda graced the occasion and briefed the objective and goal of the programme and the house pledged to thrive for a New India. A presentation on farmers’ friendly agricultural technologies suitable for the region in the field of agriculture, horticulture, plant protection measures and livestock farming including fishery was delivered by Dr. T. Dhar, In-charge, RRSS, UBKV on this occasion. Altogether 700 farmers from various villages of Malda district participated in the occasion.
